utomatic License Plate Identification (ALPI) has many applications in traffic systems (highway electronic tollcollection, red light violation enforcement, border and customs checkpoints etc.). This paper presents AutomaticNumber Plate Extraction and Character Segmentation for Indian vehicles. In India, number plate models are notfollowed strictly.
