Absrtact: in this paper, the inherent limitations of the traditional droop control scheme are revealed. It has been proved that parallel operation inverters should have the same impedance per unit, so that they can share the load more accurately than their rated power when using the traditional droop control scheme. The droop controller should also generate the same voltage set point of the inverter. Both conditions are difficult to meet in practice, which will lead to proportional load sharing errors. An improved droop controller is then proposed to achieve accurate proportional load sharing without meeting these two requirements to reduce the load voltage drop due to load effect and droop effect. The load voltage can be kept within the required range around the rated value. The strategy is robust to numerical error, disturbance, noise, feeder impedance parameter drift and component mismatch. The only shared error, which is quantified in the file, comes from the error in measuring the load voltage. There is a fundamental trade-off between voltage drop and shared accuracy when there is an error in the measured voltage. It has also been stated that in order to avoid power sharing errors, the global settings of rated voltage and frequency should be accurate.
