GMSK is the abbreviation of minimum frequency shift keying (MFSK) of Gaussian filter. The basic principle of GMSK is that the baseband signal is first shaped by Gaussian filter, and then modulated by minimum frequency shift keying (MSK). Because the formed Gaussian pulse envelope has neither steep edge nor inflection point, the spectrum characteristic is better than that of MSK signal.
