A new fast algorithm for adaptive chirplet decomposition of signals is proposed in reference [1], which has many unknown parameters and is difficult to implement. The algorithm calculates the quadratic phase function of the signal, and gets the conclusion that the energy distribution is concentrated on the frequency modulation curve of the signal. At this time, the chirplet frequency, time center and amplitude can be estimated simultaneously through the spectrum peak detection. Then the initial frequency and width can be estimated through the de chirp technology. The simulation results verify the effectiveness of the algorithm.
